The Opportunity As The Commonwell continues to build and mature its in-house actuarial capabilities, this role will help shape pricing methodologies, tools, and governance processes. You will work closely with business leaders to embed actuarial insight into decisionmaking and influence how pricing evolves across the organization.The Senior Actuarial Pricing Analyst plays a key role in the development, refinement, and monitoring of pricing strategies across Personal Lines Auto and Residential Property, and Specialty Lines insurance. Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Management & Member Innovation, this position supports datadriven pricing decisions through rigorous actuarial analysis, research, modeling, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. The Analyst contributes to portfolio profitability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of rating structures, methodologies, and tools across all supported product lines. Strategic and analytical thinker with a business mindset Confident communicator who can translate complex concepts into clear insights Collaborative partner who builds trust across technical and nontechnical teams Experience with rating engines such as Guidewire is an asset Exposure to Commercial, Farm, or Specialty lines is considered an asset How You Will Create An Impact Lead the design and enhancement of rating models, factors, and methodologies across Auto, Property, and Specialty lines Perform quarterly rate indications for each Line of Business and provide commentary on rate adequacy Prepare and present rate indication results and recommendations to leadership, supporting pricing and filing decisions Leverage actuarial insight to support business strategy, pricing decisions, and portfolio management, considering product performance, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements Ensure rate indications are reviewed and documented in alignment with internal governance and regulatory expectations What You Will Bring Postsecondary education in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field Working toward ACAS/FCAS designation strongly preferred Minimum 25 years of P&C actuarial or pricing experience, ideally spanning Personal Auto, Residential Property, or Commercial/Farm product lines Completion of at least 4 actuarial exams is required Demonstrated experience producing actuarial indications for Auto and Property risk classes Familiarity with Canadian Personal Auto rating frameworks (e.g., CLEAR, GISA, IRCA) is an asset Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in actuarial/statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Emblem, SAS) Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Power BI is an asset Perks of Being a Commonwell Crew Member Remotefirst workplace Flexible Work Policy Competitive compensation and benefits package Opportunities for training and career development Community involvement and volunteering opportunities Corporate Wellness Program About the Salary RangesPlease note that the salary range mentioned in this job posting should serve simply as a guide.
