The Associate Research Scientist (bioinformatics & data mining) is responsible for driving innovation in scientific technology by developing, evaluating, and validating novel software methodologies, contributing to research project execution, and identifying opportunities for product improvement. The position involves applying advanced scientific knowledgeparticularly in instrumentation, machine learning, and software developmentto support crossfunctional research initiatives. This position reports to the Technical Director, LCMS Research, and is part of the Software and Applications Research Team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada, an onsite role. In This Role, You Will Have the Opportunity To Acquire, process and analyze mass spectrometry data to support customer workflows and novel technology development Develop algorithms to enable deeper analysis of mass spectrometry data sets Drive the on-time delivery of different research projects to either commercial or precommercial groups Drive innovation by generating novel ideas to advance scientific technology Identify and implement opportunities for product improvement across a wide range of research areas The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include Higher level science degree in a related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or similar (Ph.D. preferred) More than 3 years of experience in software programming, algorithm development and applications development Broad background and knowledge of software processing languages and data science tools Proven publication record within the field It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in Demonstrated experience implementing AI / ML algorithms to solve scientific problems Experience with Python, R, and Knime Innovation and patent generation preferred SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The annual salary range for this role is $111,333 - $122,500 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
