COMPANY OVERVIEW We are a Jackson Family Wines winerya familyowned company with properties in California, Oregon, Australia, France, Italy, Chile, and South Africa. At our Oakville winery we produce wines for highend JFW brands such as Freemark Abbey and premium custom crush clients. We primarily produce highquality red Bordeaux varieties along with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Assyrtiko. Our average crush is 2,000 tons and we have approximately 15,000 barrels of capacity in our barrel cellar. POSITION SUMMARY This is a handson cellar internship role that reports to the cellar manager. We operate an indoor and outdoor facility covering the full grapetobottling production. Interns work in all of the following areas: Assist in crushing red fruit to tanks and pressing of white grapes Manage fermentation: pumpovers, rack and returns, pressing Add yeasts, nutrients, SO, and other additions Barrel work: filling, racking and topping Sanitize tanks, equipment, and perform general housekeeping Maintain drygoods inventory JOB REQUIREMENTS 1year harvest experience required A degree or certificate in winemaking or a related field, unless the candidate has at least 5years of agriculture experience Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish speaking is a plus Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and extended hours through harvest Physical ability to sit, bend, stoop, twist, and walk over uneven surfaces Ability to climb stairs, lift 50+lbs., and stand for long periods Ability to work well both independently and as a valued team member with a positive attitude Forklift driving experience is a plus This is a seasonal position commencing in August and concluding in November. Applicants are responsible for their own transportation and housing; we will assist, when possible, with housing searches. International positions will be processed via coordination with CAEP.org. WAGE TRANSPARENCY: The base pay for this role ranges from $19.50$24.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
