Test and Trial Specialist AJISS- ISS Halifax, NS - Hybrid Regulatory Compliance Requirements Ability to acquire and maintain Canadian Secret, Controlled Goods, ITAR, NATO Secret and COMSEC security clearances. Referral Program Eligibility This position is eligible for the NORAM referral program for external candidates. The level is Tier 1 $1,500. Position Summary Thales Canada, Defence & Security is engaged in the maintenance of ships for Canadas National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) program. To support this project, the IVVQ team (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Quality Team) is looking to add a Test and Trials Specialist to the Thales team, to be based in Victoria. The Test and Trials Specialist plays a critical role as part of the Engineering team responsible for the design, conduct, and reporting of IVVQ activities. Key Areas of Responsibility Plan and Execute Test Events. Write test plans and test procedures that will properly verify and validate the product. Analyze requirements and contribute to the development of traceability matrices. Develop Test cases. Work with System and Software Engineering in identifying and analyzing defects. Raise project issues/risks and track to resolution. Provide Test Reports and status updates on test activities. Deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools/platforms necessary for test activities. Observe test guidelines and company internal processes. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline from a recognized university or college, OR in lieu of a degree, a combination of relevant work experience and/or education as equivalency. At least three (3) years demonstrated experience in IV&V or a related field. Previous Experience with Test case development and execution either manual or automated. Requirements analysis. Test management tools. Demonstrated Capabilities Fluent in English, skilled communicator, both written and spoken. Attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience in military systems, including ships or shipbuilding, marine systems, system of systems engineering and integration, core network, and applications. Experience handling and working on physical systems, products, or equipment. Experience testing or performing verification on ships. Experience with IBM DOORS. Special Position Requirements Schedule: 40 hours Monday to Friday. Physical environment: Customer Site includes Victoria shipyards or Halifax shipyards. Travel: Potential for test events, training, or technical meetings. Physical Demands Test sites can be located in difficult-to-navigate areas, such as shipyards, onboard ships at sea, construction sites, and remote wilderness locations necessary navigation skills required. Minimal lifting of test and electronic equipment in a lab or field environment. Compensation The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $95,000 $125,000 CAD Annual. This range reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs.
