Intermediate Building Science Project Manager Job Category : Engineering Requisition Number : BUILD Posted : March 11, 2026 Full-Time Hybrid Locations Showing 1 location Toronto, ON M2J5B5, CAN Description Intermediate Building Science Project Manager, Toronto, ON Our Toronto office is seeking an experienced and motivated Building Science Project Manager to lead building condition assessments, reserve fund studies, and performance audits for existing buildings from initial site investigation through analysis, reporting, and client presentation. Responsibilities include conducting detailed building evaluations, preparing comprehensive technical reports, assessing the condition and remaining service life of building components, and developing capital repair and replacement plans with associated cost estimates. The role also involves coordinating with clients, property managers, and consultants to provide practical, cost-effective recommendations that support long-term building maintenance and asset management. The Building Science team in Toronto is recognized for delivering innovative and reliable results for both new and existing buildings across residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. Areas of expertise include the assessment, repair, and replacement of roofing systems, faades, glazing systems, waterproofing, and other building envelope components. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team dedicated to improving the performance, durability, and value of the buildings served. Typical Duties Conduct site investigations and evaluations of existing building and structures Prepare technical reports for the investigation and assessment of various building envelope failures or issues Develop restoration strategies and present viable rehabilitation scenarios for the client Develop building envelope design drawings and specifications Perform building condition assessments, reserve fund studies, and performance audits in accordance with applicable industry standards and guidelines Evaluate the condition, service life, and performance of building components including roofing, waterproofing, cladding, glazing systems, balconies, and concrete structures Identify building deficiencies, deterioration mechanisms, and potential performance issues affecting durability and serviceability Prepare technical reports summarizing site observations, condition evaluations, and recommended maintenance or rehabilitation strategies Develop capital repair and replacement plans and life cycle cost projections for building components Provide technical recommendations to clients regarding repair priorities, risk mitigation, and long-term asset management strategies Manage projects from initial assessment through reporting and client presentation Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff assisting with site reviews and report preparation Develop and maintain strong client relationships, including condominium corporations, property managers, and institutional owners Requirements Completion of a postsecondary program in applied science or engineering from an accredited university Professional Engineer within the Province of Ontario preferred Minimum 46 years previous experience in building science; experience in consulting or contracting firm preferred Experience with building condition assessments, reserve fund studies, and performance audits Ability to work with and manage a team while working on multiple projects Strong technical writing skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise, and wellorganized technical reports Strong analytical and problemsolving skills related to building performance and deterioration mechanisms Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel Ability and willingness to perform site work, including accessing roofs, terraces, and parking structures Access to a reliable vehicle for travel to project sites Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment Flexibility to occasionally work outside of core hours to accommodate site access or project requirements Location: NorthYork/Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Compensation: $75,000 to $95,000 CAD depending on experience Vacancy Status : This posting is for an existing vacancy.
