Salon Business Consultant Be a part of something bigger! The Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener and surrounding areas. Ideal candidate would reside in or very near the following cities: Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener and surrounding within 45 minutes drive or less. Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits! Essential Function Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred. The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers and their main focus is to help grow their salons overall sales. The Consultant will be responsible for meeting and achieving assigned sales goals using manufacturer education and sales resources. Sales should be expanded through opening new doors and selling approved beauty products while introducing new concepts. The Consultant will actively use all forms of social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and any licensed beauty professional. Primary Duties Grow the Business: Identify key accounts within territory and establish a route that will be most efficient to grow and develop existing customers while looking for new partnerships. Assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs and concepts. Determine customers needs and offer products and services to meet those needs. Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (within 24 hours). Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon. Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals. Comply with established procedures regarding the processing of returns, including pickup of returns and completing required documents. Work with all areas of business such as customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and any other necessary business functions provided by the entity. Prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets. Manage all administrative aspects of the role in a timely manner including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information in Salesforce.com. Grow salon clientele by utilizing social media for communication, promotion, education and product knowledge. Conduct effective inperson and virtual product knowledge classes. Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, followup plans and assistance needed. Grow Team and Culture: Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms & social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers. Attend all meetings, functions and events and maintain contact as established by the Company or Supervisor. Be available to attend shows, participate in setup and dismantling of displays, handle back stock and perform other required physical activities. Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset while fostering change management. Grow Yourself: Exhibit a desire to learn and grow, strive for continuous improvement, and develop digital & social media techniques. Schedule and attend business development days to increase product knowledge and build vendor relationships. Allocate and optimize time to participate in learning using all available tools. Remain agile to market changes while building industry knowledge and intuition. Actively work to increase product, industry, and market knowledge. Create an organized work environment and workflow to serve customers efficiently. Experience And Skills Required High school diploma or equivalent certification. Minimum of 1 year of outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling. Must live within the assigned territory. Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines and books of business. Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, Oracle; experience with iPad a plus. Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools. Position requires local travel within the territory, attendance at shows, conventions, educational events, including overnight travel and some weekend nights. Ability to work in a safe manner and maintain alertness. Frequent and sometimes prolonged driving necessary. Committed to scheduled hours and flexibility for changing business needs. Strong time management, organization and ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, at all organizational levels.
