About the Team The Transaction Tooling team at People Inc. is a highly collaborative team of engineers building enterprise class internal tools for commerce and editorial staff to manage the wide array of products presented across all the People Inc. brands. About the Intern Role As an intern on Transactional Tooling you will be fully integrated into the engineering team and be given meaningful and challenging work improving, extending, and creating new and existing products using modern fullstack web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Typescript, and Javascript, as well as working with frameworks such as VueJS, NextJS, Node, Tailwind, and others. Internship Responsibilities Working with the team on new features to enhance existing tools in the above mentioned languages and frameworks Turning design mock ups into functional features Integrating with custom and 3rd party APIs Collaborating with product management and fellow engineers to plan and execute work Attending Agile scrum meetings via Zoom Daily Huddles Sprint planning Weekly retrospectives About You A strong desire to learn about real world application development and be mentored by senior engineers Values collaboration and is eager to both give and receive feedback Strong fundamentals in software engineering and system design lifecycles Motivated problem solver who will proactively troubleshoot and create solutions An eye for web design, and user experience Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Experience working with Javascript, Typescript, HTML and CSS and building web applications Experience with modern web frameworks such as VueJS, React, or others (a strong asset) Experience working with the latest AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, etc. (an asset) Experience with Java (an asset) It is the policy of People Inc. to provide employment opportunities regardless of age, physical or mental disability, race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
