Job Role Description The Onsites Process or Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of process and / or plant equipment in industrial settings. This role involves starting up, shutting down, monitoring and controlling production processes, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Operators play a key role in maintaining product quality and consistency, and they work closely with quality control and maintenance teams to address any issues that arise. They are also involved in the continuous improvement of process efficiency and the implementation of best practices to enhance overall plant performance. Job Role Responsibilities Monitor and control equipment to ensure the efficient operation of production or process equipment. Follow safety and environmental regulations and protocols to ensure compliance. Work with maintenance teams to address equipment issues and support performance of necessary repairs. Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response drills to ensure preparedness. Maintain product quality and consistency by monitoring process parameters and making necessary adjustments. Respond to emergencies by following established procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Typical work hours are 14 12 hr shifts on, then 14 days off, rotating between nights and days. About you Skills and Qualifications 4th class Power Engineering certificate or significant progress towards such will be required as well as potential to eventually obtain a 3rd class Power Engineering certificate. Valid class 5 driver''s license and safe driving record are required for this position. High School diploma or equivalent. Able to work individually, as well as in a team situation, with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications / Experience Preference for Power Engineering certification specifically progress or ownership of a 4th class power engineering certificate or 3rd and some operating experience. Preference for candidates with operational aptitude and trouble shooting skills, especially demonstrating the ability to learn and work with teams or independently. This position will be a full time fly-in, fly-out camp based role to the Kearl site with a 14 days on/14 days off work schedule. Bussing is available from Fort McMurray, and flights are available from either Calgary or Edmonton. Relocation assistance to Fort McMurray, Calgary or Edmonton is available if required. Bus transportation is also available to Kearl site from Fort McMurray at the beginning and end of each shift rotation for Fort McMurray residents.
