Rotor Wing First Officer Location: Sudbury, Ontario Employment Status: Permanent Full Time Salary: $92,408.19 - $100,516.47 (Effective Jan 1, 2026) Position Summary Rotor Wing Pilots are responsible for all aspects of aircraft operation, must be able to fly in varying conditions, handle pressure well and be flexible and adaptable. Ornge aircraft are provincewide resources and aviation personnel may be required to provide flight support at bases other than the home base where demand arises. All Ornge pilots are required to complete the companys training program and successfully pass a Transport Canada PPC. They are responsible for following all applicable policies and standard operating procedures. The SecondinCommand (SIC) assists the PilotinCommand with flight planning and aircraft preparation as directed by the PilotinCommand and is responsible to the PilotinCommand for carrying out specific duties in connection with the operation of the assigned aircraft. Qualifications - Valid commercial rotarywing (H) license. - 500 rotarywing flight hours. - Completed ATPL exams. - Valid Group 4 instrument rating. - Night rating. - Valid Class 1 medical. - AW139 type rating and EMS experience is desirable. - Ability to successfully complete the Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application for Night Vision Goggle purposes. - Valid Canadian passport or ability to work in Canada and travel to the USA. - Immunization records with required vaccinations. Hours and Location of Work - Must work various shifts and overtime, including day and night shifts, weekends, statutory holidays in a 24/7 environment. - Shifts may require overnight stays away from the home base. - Must live or be willing to relocate close to the assigned base to comply with CARs rest requirements and respond within 1.5 hours of callout during oncall shifts. - Employees may need to use respiratory protective equipment and maintain a cleanshaven appearance to ensure an effective facial seal.
