What You Will Do Summary Providence Health Care (PHC) is now accepting applications for Dietitians to join our interdisciplinary care teams. In this role, youll apply evidence-based clinical nutrition expertise across diverse care settings, working closely with patients, families, and care teams to support recovery, wellness, and quality of life. This is an opportunity to practice person-centred, collaborative care while contributing to education, quality improvement, and research in a leading health care environment. What responsibilities will include: Comprehensive Nutrition Assessment & Care Planning: Assess patients and residents nutritional status and risk, and design, implement, evaluate, and document individualized nutrition care plans in accordance with professional standards. Youll collaborate closely with nutrition staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure care plans are effectively implemented and adapted as clinical needs evolve. Patient, Family & Team Collaboration: Work as an active member of interdisciplinary teams by participating in rounds and care conferences, contributing to discharge planning, and counseling patients and families on nutrition-related issues such as diet modification and lifestyle changes. Youll also liaise with community-based nutrition resources to support continuity of care beyond the hospital setting. Education, Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Provide nutrition education to patients, families, staff, students, and dietetic interns through one-on-one counseling, in-services, and presentations. Youll support learner development while staying current with emerging best practices in clinical nutrition through ongoing professional education and literature review. Quality Improvement, Research & Professional Practice: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by helping develop and evaluate clinical guidelines, tools, and educational materials. Youll support research activities within departmental resources and assist with workload reporting, documentation, and the maintenance of nutrition-related equipment and supplies. What You Bring Education, Training and Experience Bachelors Degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized University. Dietetic internship from an accredited program. Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Restricted Activities A, B, & /or C may be required as listed on the posting. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to communicate with and deal effectively with, patients/residents, families, staff, physicians, and other health care providers. Contributes to an inter-disciplinary approach to patient/resident care and program related issues by attending ward rounds and team conferences to exchange information related to patient/resident care and discharge planning. Instructs and/or counsels patients/residents and family members in nutritional issues such as diet modifications and lifestyle changes. Determines, refers and/or liaises with community based nutritional resources as required to ensure that patient/resident care issues are addressed. Participates in quality improvement activities by providing input into the development, implementation, and evaluation of written procedures and standards, assessment forms, and patient/resident materials, program descriptions, audit tools and clinical guidelines for Nutrition Services and relevant clinical programs. Completes required patient/resident documentation, forms and reports and documents workload statistics. Collaborates with departmental and other team members to organize in-service education, to identify the need for and to participate in educational programs by preparing educational materials and making presentations. Provides clinical education and supervision to students and dietetic interns. Maintains knowledge of current developments in clinical nutrition by reviewing professional literature, consulting with other professionals and actively participating in relevant educational programs. Supports clinical research activities by generating questions, assisting in writing proposals, and participating in data collection and interpretation, within departmental resources. Monitors and controls levels of supplies and equipment. Reports equipment malfunctions and arranges for equipment maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
