We are looking for an Accountant to join the Accounting & Control team of our Finance department, based in either Stellarton, Nova Scotia or Mississauga, Ontario. Heres Where Youll Be Focusing Accurately prepare and post entries and account for transactions in the general ledger and fixed asset subledger Prepare and review working papers that support account balances, investigate errors, and facilitate corrections Complete periodend close processes, controls, and procedures Reconcile the balance in fixed asset subledger to the general ledger Review and update fixed asset schedules for financial statement note disclosure purposes Track project expenditure and ensure proper reclassification in accordance with IFRS and fixed asset policy (capital vs expense) Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO certification requirements Participate in internal and external audit requests Collaborate with various stakeholders and provide recommendations that comply with the fixed asset policy and IFRS Propose innovative ideas with a processimprovement mindset Prepare various analytical and adhoc reports What You Have To Offer University degree in Business, Accounting or a related field 2+ years of experience in an accounting role CPA designation, or in the process of obtaining one Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) Strong communication skills, both oral and written Excellent timemanagement skills, with the ability to meet timesensitive deadlines Solid analytical and problemsolving skills Knowledge of SAP an asset Microsoft Office skills, with intermediate Excel proficiency Benefits We offer a Total Rewards package that supports teammates at work and in life, including health and dental benefits, retirement and savings programs, an employee share ownership plan, a 10% instore discount, virtual healthcare, an employee and family assistance program, learning and development opportunities, parental leave topup, and paid vacation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
