OverviewSenior Electrical Engineer Transmission & Substation Design We are seeking aSenior Electrical Engineerto join a high-performing engineering team responsible for the design and delivery of electric utility transmission substations. This role focuses on developing innovative and reliable electrical design solutions supporting substations operating from12kV through 500kVin a complex utility environment. ResponsibilitiesLead electrical design activities for substation projects, analyze complex engineering challenges, and develop practical solutions that align with industry standards and operational requirements. Prepare technical specifications, review design documentation produced by internal teams and external consultants, and support procurement and construction activities. Mentor junior engineers and Engineers-in-Training while ensuring engineering work meets technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, structural, and protection & control engineers throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the full project lifecyclefrom early engineering studies and equipment specification through construction support, testing, and commissioning. QualificationsDegree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred). 8+ years of experience in transmission substation engineering within a utility or consulting environment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Expertise in major substation equipment such aspower transformers, circuit breakers, reactors, capacitors, and disconnect switches. Familiarity with modern grid technologies includingFACTS devices, energy storage systems, and advanced grid infrastructure. Experience with grounding studies, lightning protection, and substation design software is considered an asset.#J-18808-Ljbffr
