Airport General Manager Safety/Training - YYC Job Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for all regional station operations, ensuring that the delivery of services is consistent, professional, safe, and secure. The role requires a seasoned senior manager with strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. Job Duties Oversight of Operational leadership and drives safety, operational performance, customer experience, and financial results. Evaluate daily staffing and ensures resources are aligned for optimum performance. Anticipate future staffing needs and ensure proactive recruitment measures are implemented. Full P&L responsibility. Daily labour management. Execute daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans consistent with customer expectations. Identify and drive continuous improvements in the operation process and communicate them to the executive team and customer. Build effective partnerships with internal departments, outside vendors, contractors, business partners, communities, and other business entities. Interacts regularly with the executive team to ensure operational priorities are aligned with total company direction. Promotes team-building initiatives and performs coaching and mentoring activities to develop and motivate team members. Ensures information is communicated in a clear, accurate, and comprehensive manner. Participates in employee relations investigations when complaints are brought forth and resolves issues in a professional and timely manner. Monitors and enforces safe working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws. Promotes and adheres to policies, including but not limited to, Safety, Anti-Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position. Qualifications Must have experience in airline ground handling services. Experience managing a budget. Must have the ability to identify, evaluate and refine operational and financial results and manage to meet target performance. Must be able to lead team members effectively, as well as coach and develop individuals toward meeting corporate and individual goals. Lead innovation by teaching, consensus-building, and project execution. Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self-starting on tasks within area of expertise. Ability to lead and demonstrate initiative and work well in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a solid decision-maker with exceptional analytical skills. Must be able to obtain credentials required as per local authorities. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of six years in an aviation ground operations station or regional leadership position. Physical Requirements Must be able to frequently push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, lift up to 70lbs and move up to 70lbs; and constantly walk, stand, handle, grasp and reach out. May have to reach above shoulder occasionally. Working Conditions You will need to have flexibility in your schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. We operate 365 24/7 operations.
