We provide Electrical Engineering, System Integration, IT/OT, IoT services, and consulting across North America. This role is for an Intermediate to Senior Telecom Engineer with a strong focus on telecommunication and IT/OT services within the Operational Technology (OT) environment, through engineered designs, network implementation, cybersecurity, and consulting. The position offers growth opportunities as the team expands. The role can be based in Guelph or Mississauga, on a hybrid work arrangement. Responsibilities Provide technical oversight by managing, planning, and organizing work with technical team members to deliver IT/OT project requirements, including scope, fee, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management plans. Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time, on schedule, and on budget. Analyze client needs and recommend solutions. Design telecommunication and networking solutions aligned with client needs, including cabling infrastructure, fibre optic, microwave, wireless, LAN/WAN and firewalling. Apply cybersecurity best practices in line with industry norms (NERC CIP, NIST, ISA/IEC 62443). Review existing network architectures and recommend improvements as needed. Document architectures and implemented solutions clearly and comprehensively. Prepare detailed designs of IP networking infrastructure and servers, including plans and specifications for cabling, enclosures, and other network needs. Participate in configuring, installing and implementing IP networks and server infrastructures. Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings, specifications, reports, contract documents, and approvals. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients. Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field. License to practice Engineering in Ontario (P.Eng designation or equivalent). 5-10 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a technical lead role is an asset. Experience in industrial OT networking in the electrical utility sector is an asset. Experience at a Consulting Engineering firm is an asset. Active networking and cybersecurity certifications with Cisco or other recognized standards (CCNP, CCIE, CCDE, CISSP) are assets. Active structured cabling certifications with BICSI (RCDD) or other recognized standards are assets. Desired Skills and Experience Knowledge of multiple networking aspects from transport layer (copper/fibre/wireless/cellular), LANs, WANs, VLANs, server virtualization, servers, cloud systems, routing protocols, firewalls, DMZs, IT/OT convergence, and cybersecurity. Experience in multiple telecom technologies such as Optical transport systems (DWDM, MPLS-TP, IP/MPLS, SONET/SDH), Wireless transport systems (Microwave, Satellite), Tele-protection, PLC, High Voltage Entrance (HVE), Radio access systems (WiMAX, LTE, Wi-Fi, LMR), and Control/Automation systems (PLC, SCADA, IEC 61850). IT/OT convergence including firewalls. Telecom Power System experience. Supporting proposal development including estimating and quotations. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of industrial networks, protocols, and practices is an asset. Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, SEL RTACs, and industrial network protocols (IEC 61850, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, OPC) is an asset. Why choose Eramosa?
