Overview Amazon seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our AMZL Canada finance team. This role focuses on financial planning 1-3 years out, executing the month-end close process, and leading entitlement projects to reduce cost to serve for our customers. It requires excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills as you work across operations and support teams to influence strategic decisions. Responsibilities Develop and maintain financial plans with a 1-3 year outlook, providing data-driven insights that help shape AMZL Canada operations. Execute month-end close processes with attention to detail, ensuring accurate financial reporting and proactively identifying discrepancies. Lead entitlement projects by analyzing data, identifying improvement opportunities, and partnering with operations teams to implement solutions. Report on daily and weekly performance metrics, transforming data into actionable insights for operational leaders. Influence key stakeholders by communicating the financial implications of business decisions, serving as a strategic partner to operations teams to improve execution. A day in the life Your day begins with reviewing key financial metrics and preparing performance reports that provide visibility into AMZL Canadas operations. You will collaborate with operations teams to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement. Youll toggle between tactical tasks such as month-end close activities and strategic planning, and participate in cross-functional meetings to present financial insights and influence decisions that impact the business over the next 1-3 years. About the team Our team is small but mighty, responsible for managing all AMZL Canada costs including under-the-roof, on-road, and fixed expenses. We work as strategic partners to operations, providing financial guidance that drives business performance. Each team member plays a crucial role in supporting Amazons last mile delivery network in Canada, helping to scale operations efficiently while maintaining financial discipline. We value collaboration and offer growth across multiple financial disciplines. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of tax, finance, or related analytical field experience 4+ years of accounts receivable or accounts payable experience 4+ years of applying KPIs to analyses 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance or business tools and processes Bachelors degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or Bachelors degree and 5+ years of quantitative experience in a related role Preferred Qualifications 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results MBA or CPA Knowledge of Tableau Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. As a total compensation company, Amazons package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
