Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Financial Lines Claims Counsel to handle claims specific to Cyber, Crime, D&O, E&O, EPL, and Environmental policies. Reporting to the AVP Financial Lines Claims Manager, you will follow established protocols to ensure claims are managed efficiently and effectively, always delivering a customercentric claims service. Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of inperson presence, which may include time in the office or marketfacing engagements. What you will do Review claim documents and investigate to analyze coverage, liability, and damages Draft coverage position correspondence addressing liability and damages, and communicate coverage with insureds, brokers, business units, insurance tower, mediators, and judges as necessary Deliver exceptional customer service by building and maintaining relationships with customers, brokers, and external partners Ensure claim and file management complies with Zurich Best Practices and insurance regulatory frameworks Proactively manage litigated files through internal and external counsel Prepare and develop strategy for resolution of claims, ensuring timely and appropriate reserves Attend and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences Provide claims insights to assist business units and collaborate with underwriters to identify trends and claim issues Protect Zurichs reputation by keeping claims information confidential Job Qualifications Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of experience in the legal area JD and 5 or more years of legal practice experience in the insurance area Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s) Experience in insurance claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment Negotiation experience Customer service experience Microsoft Office experience Preferred Qualifications Member of the bar Detail oriented Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Analytical and problemsolving skills Time management and prioritization Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Collaboration and teamwork Adaptability and ability to work in a fastpaced environment Professional discretion and confidentiality File management and documentation skills Resultsoriented and solutionfocused mindset Salary and Benefits Zurich Canada is committed to pay equity. The salary range for this position is $108,000 $174,000, reflecting the expected pay across Canada and may vary depending on office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications.
