Job Description

Job Title: Data Scientist MineStar Performance Overview As a Data Scientist for MineStar Performance you will design, research, and validate analytical methodologies that define how performance tools operate across autonomous and staffed mining operations. Your work will shape performance metrics, analytics frameworks, and decisionmaking tools that influence operational excellence. Responsibilities Research, design, and validate analytical methodologies that define how performance tools function. Develop performance frameworks, metrics, and models that support consistent and reliable decision making. Translate ambiguous business or operational problems into structured analytical approaches. Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure methodologies remain relevant and effective. Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Contribute to continuous evolution of tools through experimentation, validation, and feedback loops. Support broader initiatives with data analysis, modeling, and methodological guidance. Qualifications & Skills Strong foundation in business statistics, applied mathematics, data analysis, and analytical modeling. Experience designing metrics, KPIs, and performance frameworks from first principles. Analytical thinking and ability to explain complex concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences. Collaboration skills across global, crossfunctional teams with multiple stakeholders. Attention to detail, curiosity, and a methodical approach to learning and iteration. Preferred Experience Degree in Math, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or related technical field. Experience in mining operations and/or MineStar technology. Location & Travel Primary location: Calgary, Alberta. May require up to 25% travel. 5 days onsite a week. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $108,400 $135,500 (location based, may vary).
