Position Summary The successful candidate(s) will be joining a group of 10 anesthesiologists and provide anaesthesia services at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital (OSMH). In addition to providing general anesthetics for services including general surgery, ENT, gynecology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, urology and ophthalmology, the successful candidate will possess experience in managing pediatric and obstetrical cases. Other responsibilities will include preadmission clinic consultations, administrating sedation in the endoscopy suite and providing support for difficult cases in the emergency department. Opportunity for ultrasoundguided regional anesthesia and for participation in an anaesthesia procedure clinic for chronic pain management exists for candidates with adequate training. Responsibilities OnCall: Provision of an average of 1 in 10 oncall calls. Administrative and Quality Participation in strategic planning and program development of anaesthesiarelated services. Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities related to anaesthesia care. Participation in hospital committees pertaining to speciality and as required by the credentialed staff bylaws. Efficient use of resources. Utilization: Provide a central role for prioritisation of afterhour cases. Remuneration Alternative Payment Plan (APP) HOCC for oncall Qualifications Education College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted licence that allows the physician to fulfil the requirements of this position. Fellowship in Anaesthesia recognised by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or GP Anaesthesia training provided by a recognised Canadian university program. Experience Open to recent graduates, preference given to candidates with experience.
