Purpose of Role Aids in the execution of Hudbays exploration activities to create value through increasing reserves and resources of the company. Role Accountabilities - Contribute, as part of the corporate exploration team, to technical projects with geological aspects (e.g. geological modelling, database validation, project evaluation etc.). - Ensure best technical practices are introduced or continued for use on our exploration projects. - Provide geological review (modelling, exploration upside, red flags etc.) in project evaluations, M&A targets or inhouse projects. - Communicate progress of technical work to the immediate team on a regular basis. Technical assistance for exploration projects and target generation when needed. - Complete any field work with a clear understanding of Hudbays safe work practices. Experience and Qualifications - Experience: 10+ years working in the mining exploration industry. Strong competence in applying best practices to our projects & mine sites. - Qualifications: Professional registration or eligibility. - University degree, advanced degree (MSc or PhD) an asset. - Fluency in English required, Spanish an asset. Knowledge & Skills - Knowledge: Strong technical background in multiple geologic environments (Porphyry, Orogenic Gold, Skarn and/or VMS). - Skills: Proficiency with GIS and 3D modelling software. - The ability to conduct geologic mapping and drill core logging when required. - Clear and effective communicator. - Collaborative as part of a team of geoscientific professionals. #J-18808-Ljbffr
