Samaritan's Purse Canada is seeking a Community Recovery Specialist to work in Jasper, AB. As a Community Recovery Specialist, you will contribute to the long-term community recovery following disasters by establishing and strengthening connections between community members, social supports, government, and churches.The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in emergency management, social work, ministry, or a related field, and 2-3 years of experience in emergency management, humanitarian aid, social work, or first response. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities include:Functions as a convener of local and external support providers as well as local churches to support a collaborative approach to recoveryDevelops and implements a community entry strategy to gain knowledge of local community contextDirects affected individuals to most appropriate agencies or organizations in the area where they may find assistanceProvides individual case management support for local and external organizationsMaintains relationships with community members, communicating progress and supporting them through the recovery processQualifications:Committed to Christian values and preceptsAccess to a private home office located in close proximity to Jasper, ABPost-secondary degree or diploma in emergency management, social work, ministry, or a related field2-3 years of experience in emergency management, humanitarian aid, social work, or first responseProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteThis is a remote full-time one-year contract position with benefits, including life insurance, medical/dental, and short-term/long-term disability.
