We are looking for an Assistant Superintendent - Wood Frame in Calgary to support the Superintendent and project team in coordinating site activities and ensuring safe, efficient delivery of work by subcontractors and the field team. In this role, you will help plan schedules, determine labour and material needs, and ensure the team has the tools and resources required to succeed, while championing safety alongside the CSO and safety team. The ideal candidate is a driven, results-oriented construction professional who communicates confidently with stakeholders and is excited to join a well-established builder with a diverse portfolio, contributing to our growth in the Calgary market. Key Responsibilities - Assist the Superintendent in managing work on site to ensure the compliance of construction drawings and specifications; - Support with administering contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices to ensure scopes, terms and conditions are properly executed; - Identify and advise of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues, working collaboratively with Project Manager to resolve issues; - Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance with regards to safety and scope of work; - Ensure sufficient labour resources are provided to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives; - Maintain daily field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates and other construction documentation; - Ensure all employees, subcontractors and contractors are adhering to the company safety policies. Skills and Experience - At least four to five (4-5) years of experience working on high-rise concrete projects as an Assistant Superintendent for a builder and general contractor; - Previous construction experience in a wood-frame, multi-phase, residential or mixed-use high-rise site will be considered a major asset; - Solid history of seeing a construction project from preconstruction to project completion; - Proficiency in reviewing structural drawings, blueprints and construction documents; - Strong ability and proven experience to work effectively with a site crew of various sizes; - Red Seal Carpentry ticket or construction related education will be considered an asset.
