POSITION OVERVIEW Navacord Insurance is seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Practicum Student to support our Human Resources team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full recruitment lifecycle, while collaborating closely with the Manager, Talent Acquisition and Talent Acquisition Specialist. This position goes beyond administrative support and provides exposure to candidate interaction, job postings, intake coordination, and early-stage interviewing, making it ideal for a student looking to build a career in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who is comfortable engaging with candidates, able to manage multiple priorities without losing track, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and follow-through. They are eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is an on-site role at our Vancouver Regional location. RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruitment Coordination & Administration - Manage and monitor the shared careers inbox, ensuring timely responses and directing inquiries appropriately. - Respond to candidate inquiries and referral submissions in a professional and timely manner. - Schedule interviews across multiple locations and coordinate calendars with hiring teams - Send meeting invites and ensure a smooth, well-organized interview process. - Draft and send candidate communications (confirmations, follow-ups, etc.) Job Posting & Requisition Support - Post job openings on Indeed, LinkedIn, and the company careers website. - Ensure postings are accurate, consistent, and aligned with approved job descriptions. - Monitor and maintain active postings, ensuring roles are updated or closed as needed. Intake & Stakeholder Coordination - Coordinate and schedule kick-off (intake) meetings with Hiring Managers, Talent Acquisition, and HR Advisors - Prepare meeting invites and ensure all stakeholders are included. - Support documentation and tracking of hiring requirements, timelines, and expectations. Candidate Screening & Interview Support - Conduct initial screening interviews for practicum, internship, and entry-level candidates. - Assess candidate interest, communication skills, and alignment with role requirements. - Document interview feedback and share insights with the Talent Acquisition team. - Conduct reference checks and provide summarized feedback to hiring teams. Recruitment Operations & Tracking - Maintain and update the recruitment tracker for all active and new roles. - Track candidate progress throughout the recruitment lifecycle (application offer) - Ensure data accuracy across recruitment tools and trackers. Team & Project Support - Provide administrative and coordination support to the Talent Acquisition team. - Assist with career fairs, recruitment events, and campus outreach initiatives. - Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes and candidate experience. LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES Through this practicum, you will: - Gain exposure to the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle (intake offer) - Develop hands-on experience in job postings, screening, and interview coordination. - Build confidence conducting early-stage interviews and candidate assessments. - Work with cross-functional stakeholders including Hiring Managers, HR Advisors, and TA team members. - Strengthen organizational, communication, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment. REQUIREMENTS: - Currently enrolled in a Human Resources, Business Administration, or related program - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - Comfortable interacting with candidates and internal stakeholders - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) is an asset. Compensation is determined by a combination of factors including a candidates experience, job-specific knowledge, and skills.
