Description The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a FullTime Term* position in Orthopedic Surgery at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. Responsibilities The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions. Duties will include performing history and physical examinations in various settings such as the Emergency Department and wards, and following patients in the pre, peri, and postoperative ward and other clinical settings. Assistants will attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters, which may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where available. Must communicate effectively in English with interdisciplinary healthcare team members. Position Classification THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications and is accompanied by a benefits package. Qualifications Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant. Eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment. Prior experience preferred. Physician Assistants Must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM. Clinical Assistants Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad. Must have at least one of the following: Clinical Assistant Assessment NAC OSCE LMCC Additional Information This position is subject to a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
