Position Title: Senior Process Specialist, Methods Resume Due Date : Thursday, January 8th, (5:00PM EST) Number of Vacancies : 1 Level : MP6 Duration : 12 Months Hours of work : 35 per week Location : CHQ, Oshawa, ON Work Mode : Hybrid - 2 days remote per week Hourly Rate : $90- Job Overview Be accountable for developing and establishing standardized business processes and systems for our client. Recommend a project scope and set of objectives and milestones for a process improvement consistent with the business requirements of the Sites and Nuclear Headquarters. Identify and address potential implementation issues surrounding organizational change, training of affected staff, data conversion problems, information systems upgrades, etc. Recommend project plans, priority sequence and schedules for a process improvement which reflect the business plans and process interdependencies. Review and redirect inputs to a process improvement plan on a regular basis to accommodate changes in project forecasts and requirements. Monitor process improvement performance and provide assessments to the Manager to facilitate redirection. Recommend maintenance or redesign of processes. Provide leadership to project staff assigned to deliver the direct outputs of the team in accordance with the implementation plan. Create and maintain a work environment that motivates, supports and encourages staff to perform their assigned responsibilities in a professional, effective and efficient manner, consistent with the philosophy and goals of continuous quality improvement. Act as a coach and facilitator to create and sustain a nonthreatening, supportive, team environment, actively working with staff to empower them to attain optimal work performance with a high level of personal responsibility and selfmanagement. Provide clear expectations of performance measures and meaningful feedback, recognizing and rewarding achievements. Be accountable for the direct outputs of the project members. Provide input to performance reviews of project members. Review staff requirements and recommend changes, as necessary. Recommend project plan and schedules for process change. Prepare and maintain an integrated process improvement plan and schedule within the overall project plan and schedule to be used by all external, Nuclear Headquarters and site staff to execute process improvement work. Predict future need for process change control support and integrate same into business planning process. Prepare and maintain a transition plan whereby each site facility will move from its current state to the desired future state. Integrate this plan into the overall project plan. Maintain project work practices consistent with the Nuclear objectives. Maintain module implementation status reporting (i.e. cost, schedule, variance analysis, look ahead, etc.) to meet the needs of the Manager. Prepare for and acquire the approved resources to execute the project. Monitor overall backlog of process change requests ensuring each is addressed in a priority fashion consistent with our priorities. Make recommendation on required process changes including a level one implementation plan, full business case summary and impact analysis. Formulate a position for the Content Authority to act as arbitrator for process content based on input from all stakeholders. Produce process reason for improvements (RFI) including identifying appropriate resource requirements and obtain final approval from Content Authority. Ensure design requirements are documented in the process design basis. Assist Nuclear Headquarters staff as stakeholders in the overall implementation, to plan and prepare for project related work, specifically: development and delivery of new business processes, necessary Nuclear procedures and desktop instructions to define and support these processes; development and delivery of associated performance measures; development and delivery of training to support the new processes and associated technology; provision of technology infrastructure to support the operation of the new systems; maintenance of system performance and configuration; migration of required data from legacy systems to the new systems; implementation of new business processes, and related organizational changes in accordance with Chief Nuclear Officer (CNO) directives, and measure performance and achieve the expected benefits of the implemented process improvement(s). Execute process improvement related work in accordance with the governing document for process design. Provide line management the information they need so that they may effectively implement and sustain the new processes. Identify and specify thirdparty standard reports required to meet the business needs. Develop the test scripts in support of the overall test plan. Establish the configuration of the systems and the security requirements to meet the process needs. Cut over from the legacy core systems to the new systems. Recommend the business requirements for any interfaces to other Nuclear or Corporate systems. Identify and recommend any necessary organizational and job function changes that are required for module implementation across all sites. Prepare the content of any necessary job documents that are required by the implementation. Provide input to employee communications about progress against the goals, support for managing the change, and to contain expectations. Maintain the following role relationships with respect to the designated line contacts: Coordinating: coordinate with various other process improvement teams, collaborating to work with one another towards gaining acceptance, accommodating each others needs and persuading action to be taken to facilitate the implementation of Nuclear information management systems strategy and to ensure an effective flow of information. Monitoring: evaluate the quality of site implementation work in a watchdog capacity to ensure the activities performed by site personnel meets the necessary standards to satisfy the project objectives and discuss possible improvements; keep informed of activities/issues related to site implementation to ensure that the process standards are being adhered to as defined and approved. Develop and maintain contact with all stakeholders to ensure the best interests of Nuclear are recognized and understood by resource leaders, as such relate to project management. Work with external contacts, i.e., Information Management (IM) vendors and suppliers, project staff. Influence them to make changes and improvements to software/hardware suitable to the needs of Nuclear. Represent the Business Unit/Division, as necessary, to ensure alignment with other Corporate initiatives. Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline (typically 4 years of university training). Strong knowledge of engineering principles, business management systems, project management, and business process reengineering. Proficiency in computer applications, databases, and management information systems for data analysis, evaluation, and reporting. Excellent communication skills for preparing and presenting information to senior leadership. Six Sigma/Lean Certification required (Black Belt preferred). Experience & Skills Minimum 810 years of relevant professional experience, including: 5+ years in process improvement using Six Sigma/Lean methodologies. Experience with Ariba as a business/system administrator. Expertise in endtoend Supply Chain Lifecycle, particularly the ProcuretoPay process. Background in project estimating, planning, cost monitoring, and reporting. Familiarity with nuclear facility operations, including regulatory requirements, policies, and organizational structure. Understanding of corporate and departmental policies, business objectives, and interdepartmental relationships.
