Job Description The Division of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery is seeking a fulltime associate acute care surgeon (ACS) to join our group of eight surgeons. Remuneration is feeforservice as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees and eligibility to receive the HOCC stipend for completed nights oncall. Accountabilities Oncall daily from 7:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. with two to three overnight shifts per week and a minimum of one in every four weekends (FridaySunday) Must be available during daytime hours to receive all new consults from the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, inpatient wards and all intraoperative consultations Must be available for daytime opportunities as a surgical assistant in the operating room and have 24/7 support from one of the other general surgeons Will be provided with one block per week in our outpatient clinic for patient followups, which includes associated administrative support and overhead costs. Qualifications Certificate of registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population) Additional Information Osler is a primary clinical partner for Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine and is an academic community partner with the University of Torontos Temerty Faculty of Medicine and McMasters Michael G.
