Job Description

Job Overview Under the direction of the Manager, Community Programs (South Baffin), the incumbent will provide educational leadership and administer the Academic Studies Program of the College. They will work with coinstructors, ensure course delivery meets the Colleges policies and standards, and supervise the work of two instructors. The position includes instructional duties across a variety of courses offered through the Academic Studies section at Nunatta Campus. These courses include Office Administration Certificate and Diploma, Adult Basic Education, ABE Essential Skills, and College Foundation Certificate. Responsibilities Provide educational leadership and administer the Academic Studies Program. Work with coinstructors to ensure course delivery meets College policies and standards. Instruct courses using a range of instructional styles applying adult education principles. Evaluate student learning outcomes and supervise the work of two instructors. Work with community organizations, companies, and government departments to deliver relevant adult education programs. Ensure course delivery meets College standards and is relevant to ongoing postsecondary education. Qualifications Bachelor of Education with a specialization in postsecondary education or related field. At least three (3) years of experience instructing adult learners in a postsecondary institution. Supervisory experience, preferably in a college learning environment. Crosscultural experience in the North is an asset. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern crosscultural environment is an asset.
