The Opportunity The Project Officer, Global Programs will help shape Habitat Canadas global project portfolio to be more inclusive and climate resilient. In this role, youll lead an analysis of project impact using a ResultsBased Management approach and conduct research to provide recommendations on how to strengthen Habitats project portfolio. Your insights will inform Habitats global program strategy as well as future projects to be more inclusive and resilient. As part of this process you will help identify and cultivate partnerships that drive innovation and impact. This is an excellent eight (8) weeks summer student job opportunity to learn more about global housing issues and international development. This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs youth employment program. You must meet the eligibility requirements for Canada Summer jobs in order to be considered for this position, including being between the ages of 15 and 30. Your Impact Lead review and impact analysis of current international projects that support indigenous and inclusive housing solutions; Analyzing project learning and data to inform our program. Conduct a review of project management tools and processes to integrate more inclusive and peoplecentred approaches to shape program design. Develop clear, actionable recommendations for reports and presentations to both internal and external audiences highlighting Habitats global impact. Support organization wide strategy development and planning processes, identifying potential partnerships aligned with Habitats program priorities including inclusive, resilient housing solutions, and innovative finance. Contribute to the development of funding opportunities and the preparation of proposals in accordance with donor requirements. Support the Program team with any other ad hoc requests and participate in Habitat Canada staff meetings and events as needed. Qualifications Postsecondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in international development, sustainability, housing finance, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in project management, program design, research or related areas. Knowledge of communitybased, peoplecentred development principles and resultsbased management is an asset. Demonstrated experience working on international development projects and delivering results in a fastpaced, evolving environment. Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights. Excellent problemsolving and prioritysetting skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and presentations. French an asset. Effective at developing positive working relationships evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality. Working Conditions The Project Officer works during Habitat Canadas normal office hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and may on occasion be required to attend a partner related event outside of normal office hours.
