Job Summary & Requirements As part of the Cardiac Renal program, the hemodialysis team provides renal services focused on the individual patients care needs. The Dialysis Team provides services to the hemodialysis patient population ensuring that they receive their life sustaining therapy in a holistic manner. As the Registered Nurse (RN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of nursing care for the hemodialysis patients Provides patient education Participates in data management Actively participates in the CQI process Ongoing collaboration within the Regional Dialysis Program Other duties as deemed necessary by the Program Manager Qualifications 3 years of recent dialysis experience Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BCLS CNeph (C) certification preferred Critical Thinking Skills Computer literacy in current software applications, such as RDIS and Meditech Expanse Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service Sound knowledge and able to perform cannulations with a sonosite Sound knowledge and able to properly perform CVC care Sound knowledge and able to perform a transonic Familiarity with Fresenius 5008 and Baxter Physio machines Ideal Candidate Functions independently within scope of practice Sound problem solving, communication (oral and written), conflict resolution and decision-making skills Excellent organizational skills Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong Interprofessional model of care Excellent Attendance Record #J-18808-Ljbffr
