We are recruiting Ironworkers to join our team for projects near the Fort McMurray, Alberta area. As an Ironworker, you will play a critical role in the construction and assembly of metal structures and other infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibility will be to install and fabricate steel and iron components, ensuring they are securely welded, bolted, or riveted according to specifications. Your tasks will include handling and positioning heavy materials, erecting steel frameworks, and performing welding, cutting, and rigging tasks. Responsibilities Install and assemble steel and iron frameworks for structures, following blueprints and engineering specifications Cut, shape, and weld steel and iron materials to create custom components for structural elements such as beams, columns, and girders Use cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment to position heavy steel beams, columns, and other metal components into place and secure them using bolts, rivets, or welds Perform welding, bolting, and riveting tasks to secure steel components and ensure the strength and stability of metal structures Accurately measure and align metal components, ensuring they are properly fitted and level before securing them Conduct regular checks on tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they are in good working condition, and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed Study and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the proper placement and installation of steel components Maintain high-quality standards for all work performed, ensuring that all structural components are installed correctly and meet engineering specifications Requirements Previous experience in ironworking, steel fabrication, or related construction trades is required Proficiency in welding, bolting, riveting, and cutting steel and iron materials Strong physical stamina, dexterity, and manual strength to perform demanding tasks for extended periods Strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations, particularly when working with heavy machinery, at heights, and in hazardous conditions Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, especially when dealing with complex structural issues Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis Safety Tickets H2S Alive CSO Fall Protection MEWP Key Highlights We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including matching RRSP program. * At SRG we are committed to diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified individuals to apply, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
