The position supports the Transportation Coordinator and fosters collaborative relationships with operators, schools, families, and board staff. Transportation Officer Reporting to the Transportation Coordinator of Consortium Transport EnRoute, the Transportation Officer is responsible for coordinating the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of student transportation services for the following Boards: Conseil scolaire catholique des Grandes Rivires Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de lOntario District School Board of Ontario North East Northeastern Catholic District School Board The Transportation Officer ensures compliance with Board and Consortium policies and procedures while prioritizing student safety, operational efficiency, and highquality customer service. This position supports the Transportation Coordinator and fosters collaborative working relationships with operators, schools, families, and board staff. It is required that the candidate reside within the geographic region served by Consortium Transport EnRoute. Roles & Responsibilities (French) Planifier, coordonner et surveiller les parcours dautobus afin dassurer les meilleures pratiques, lefficacit oprationnelle et le respect des obligations contractuelles. Enquter et rsoudre les proccupations impliquant les oprateurs dautobus, les chauffeurs, le personnel scolaire et les parents. Analyser les donnes et formuler des recommandations concernant lannulation du transport lors dintempries ou de situations durgence. Communiquer les annulations de transport aux mdias et mettre jour le site Web de BusPlanner, au besoin. Contribuer llaboration et la mise en uvre de plans stratgiques en matire de scurit du transport, y compris pour les lves ayant des besoins particuliers. Coordonner des services de transport scuritaires et efficaces pour tous les conseils scolaires membres, conformment aux politiques et aux chanciers tablis. Maintenir une communication constante avec les parties prenantes afin de clarifier les priorits et de traiter les enjeux oprationnels. Utiliser des systmes de base de donnes, incluant BusPlanner, pour soutenir les oprations quotidiennes de transport. Rviser et grer les horaires des oprateurs lis aux services de parcours. Rpondre rapidement et professionnellement aux demandes de renseignements du personnel des conseils scolaires, des parents et des oprateurs. Grer les demandes de transport et les rapports dincident dans un secteur gographique assign laide de Workflow dans BusPlanner Web. Ajuster et optimiser les parcours en rponse aux absences de chauffeurs, aux annulations de parcours et aux changements oprationnels. Crer et maintenir des comptes dutilisateurs pour les oprateurs et le personnel scolaire dans BusPlanner Web et Workflow. Fournir au/ la coordonnateur (trice) du transport des donnes, des analyses et des rapports pertinents afin dappuyer la prise de dcisions lies au transport. Coordonner les rservations dautobus noliss, vrifier les factures et rpartir les cots aux coles appropries. Aider rpondre aux sondages et aux demandes dinformation du ministre de lducation. Tenir des dossiers exacts des activits, des communications et des dcisions oprationnelles. tablir et maintenir des relations de travail efficaces avec les oprateurs, le personnel scolaire et les reprsentants des conseils scolaires. Participer des comits locaux, avec lapprobation du/de la coordonnateur(trice) du transport. Assurer la couverture des autres agent(e)s de transport en cas dabsence. Consulter les donnes GPS et des camras embarques dans BusPlanner afin denquter sur des proccupations, damliorer la scurit et dappuyer loptimisation des parcours. Dpanner les problmes de compte parent dans BusPlanner (p. ex., le portail parent Chipmunk). Effectuer toute autre tche connexe assigne par le/la coordonnateur(trice) du transport. Roles & Responsibilities (English) Plan, coordinate, and monitor bus routes to ensure best practices, operational efficiency, and compliance with contractual obligations. Investigate and resolve concerns involving bus operators, drivers, school staff, and parents. Analyze data and provide recommendations regarding transportation cancellations during inclement weather or emergency situations. Communicate transportation cancellations to media outlets and update the BusPlanner website as required. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic transportation safety plans, including those for students with special needs. Coordinate safe and efficient transportation services for all member Boards in accordance with established policies and timelines. Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders to clarify priorities and address operational matters. Utilize database systems, including BusPlanner, to support daily transportation operations. Review and manage operator schedules related to routing services. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from Board staff, parents, and operators. Manage transportation requests and incident reports within an assigned geographic area using Workflow in BusPlanner Web. Adjust and optimize routes in response to driver absences, route cancellations, and operational changes. Create and maintain user accounts for operators and school staff within BusPlanner Web and Workflow. Provide the Transportation coordinator with relevant data, analysis, and reports to support transportation-related decisions. Coordinate charter bus bookings, verify invoices, and allocate costs to appropriate schools. Assist with Ministry of Education surveys and information requests. Maintain accurate records of activities, communications, and operational decisions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with operators, school staff, and Board representatives. Participate on local committees, as approved by the Transportation Coordinator. Provide coverage for other Transportation Officers during absences. Review GPS and onboard camera data within BusPlanner to investigate concerns, enhance safety, and support route optimization. Troubleshoot parent account issues within BusPlanner (e.g., Chipmunk parent portal). Perform other related duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator. Experience & Qualifications (French) Un diplme dtudes postsecondaires en administration des affaires ou un minimum de trois (3) annes dexprience en logistique du transport est requis. Exprience en relations communautaires dans le secteur public et/ou priv. Exprience avec les systmes dinformation gographique (SIG) considre comme un atout. Exprience en audit, en mesure du rendement et en conformit contractuelle. Connaissance des contrats et des pratiques oprationnelles dans le secteur du transport scolaire en Ontario. Excellentes aptitudes de communication crite et orale (anglais et franais). Solides comptences administratives et interpersonnelles, incluant le tact, la diplomatie, la discrtion et la capacit de travailler en collaboration. Matrise de la suite Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Matrise de BusPlanner et de BusPlanner Web. Experience & Qualifications (English) A postsecondary diploma in Business Administration or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation logistics is required. Experience in community relations within the public and/or private sector. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) considered an asset. Experience in auditing, performance measurement, and contract compliance. Knowledge of contracts and operational practices within the Ontario student transportation sector. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and French). Strong administrative and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Proficiency with BusPlanner and BusPlanner Web. Salary Range 75,000$ - 90,000$ per year. $75,000 - $90,000 annually.
