Job Summary: Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Auto Mechanic . The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in both gasoline and diesel engines, and comfortable with all makes and models. Auto Mechanics MAY be expected to help Heavy Duty Mechanics at times. Responsibilities: - Maintain fleet trucks (brakes, services, tires) - Inspect and diagnose new additions to the fleet - Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering and so on as problems are brought forth - Replace defective parts - Write work orders and lockout tags as necessary - Work respectfully with other mechanics or labourers as needed - Roadside repairs when necessary - Keep an organized shop space and respect tools and equipment provided - Use donor trucks to reduce downtime Qualifications: - 2-3 years experience minimum - Provision of own Tool Kit is a bonus - Education/Certification an asset - Class 5 license This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. We offer relocation assistance to get to the Yukon however this is NOT *fly in fly out work, nor is end of season travel covered. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day. Wages $25-$32/hour with overtime after 8hrs. 11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.
