Security Specialist Location: Gatineau, QC Shift: Night (6 pm to 6 am) with rotating weekend shifts Overview A Security Specialist will report to the Security Supervisor and assist in the development and implementation of security procedures. The role is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of security systems in accordance with Health Canada guidelines and regulations. Job Description Assist the Security Manager and Supervisor in developing and implementing security procedures to meet Health Canada regulations. Conduct periodic system tests and inspections in collaboration with Facilities. Operate, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot security systems, including cameras and digital locks. Liaise with external suppliers for system maintenance, upgrades and installations. Investigate, respond to, and report on all security breaches and alarms. Implement corrective actions for all alarms and system errors. Assign, program and maintain key cards for employees. Maintain visitor log and assign visitor key cards as required. Perform Security Officer (Patroller) duties when needed. Perform other related duties. Qualifications Degree in Information Technology or a security-related field, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience. Strong attention to detail. Recordkeeping ability. Ability to work under pressure and remain calm. Strong computer skills, including security-related software and equipment. Bilingualism is an important asset, but French is essential. Candidate must have access to a vehicle and a valid drivers licence to respond to alarms as required. Good to have BSP certification.
