Job Description

Weigel Property Management (WPM) is an experienced Property Management firm located in the Waterloo Region which specializes in Condominiums. WPM has been serving the Waterloo and Wellington Regions for nearly Fifty years, getting its start administering newly constructed condos built by S P Weigel Construction in the 1970s and moving to the Management of Condos in 2000. WPM is an accredited member of CMRAO and actively participates in industry association education and events. We rely on our tight-knit team of licensed Condo Property Managers and dedicated staff to provide seamless client experience, bringing superior technical and engineering expertise, sound financial and investment advice, and leveraging leadingedge software to provide industryleading administrative services to our clients Role Description Manage the ownerrelated life cycle for condo residents including but not limited to: Ensure details for new owners is captured and set up in Shift Suite. Review and track owner ledgers to ensure accuracy and charges are posted and tracked within accounting standards. Ensure efficient turnover and transition of new Condo sites to WPM. Be a knowledgeable point of contact for owner relations and act as an information liaison between Owners and management. Work with other accounting admin staff to ensure accounts receivable process is properly monitored, and liens are captured within the mandated time frame. Oversee and monitor accounts payable process from receipt of invoice, through the approval process and release of payment to vendors in Sparcpay. Record and reconcile HST on commercial properties. Develop, review and update policies and procedures for accounting cycle. Record routine transactions (loan payments, recurring journal entries, amortization etc.). Lead the monthend and yearend closing procedures including balancesheet reconciliations and monthly financial statements for all Condominium Corporations. Provide financial statement commentary and analysis where required. Manage annual budgeting process and support for Condo sites with Condo Property Manager staff. Experience and Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a progressive accounting role. CPA designation or relevant accounting/finance credentials are preferred. Strong experience handling accounting processes across multiple legal entities. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ShiftSuite and Sparcpay products an asset, but not required, onsite training will be available. Property management experience and industry knowledge. Independent selfstarter that enjoys a handson small team environment. Excels at demonstrating attention to detail and achieving accuracy while adhering to deadlines on a consistent basis. Excellent communication and customer service skills, including tact, diplomacy and judgement to solve problems independently and in collaboration with other team members. #J-18808-Ljbffr
