Oversees and mentors a team of technicians and contractors, driving operational excellence while adhering to HSE standards, company policies, and job site protocols. Responsibilities Lead and develop Solids Control field teams through handson supervision, training, and performance management. Oversee daily field operationsday and nightensuring safety, productivity, and equipment reliability. Collaborate closely with fellow Field Leaders, Technicians, and Trainees to deliver seamless, highquality service. Maintain accountability for all solids control activities in the backyard of assigned job sites, ensuring full operational readiness. Report directly to the Area Manager, providing critical insight and leadership beyond the job site. Essential Functions Work 14 days on / 7 days off or 20 days on / 11 days off in Canada; rotation varies by basin. Work a 12hour shift, including overtime. Oversee a team of up to 10 technicians on a rotational schedule that may include day, night, and swing shifts. Travel domestically to remote work locations in company vehicle throughout the United States. Be assigned to one or multiple locations based on business needs. May be required to sit a tower on an active job site. Perform standard rigup and rigdown procedures while coaching and mentoring technicians. Oversee technicians operating solids control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuge, drying equipment, and pumps. Possess expert knowledge of environmental and drilling fluid properties and troubleshooting electrical issues. Oversee solids control services including air drilling, barite recovery, dewatering, floc water, fluid transfers, target lowgravity solids, cuttings drying, and invert recovery. Perform routine maintenance and electrical services on equipment. Mentor and coach technicians on standard operating procedures for moving cuttings from pits to trailers, operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Complete mentor certification program to handle diverse personalities. Conduct site audits, pick up and deliver equipment, make grocery runs, and maintain a clean job site and employee housing. Audit daily PJRA/JSA, inspection reports, observation reports, and checklists. Oversee PPE/FR protocols and lead by example on all safety protocols. Work in the shop on crossover days or as directed. Send weekly updates to Area Managers summarizing staff activity. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership and coaching ability for field technicians. Input routine data into systems including company portal. Operate and oversee heavy machinery (excavator, forklift, skid steer, wheel loader). Valid safety certifications (H2S, CPR/First Aid, confined space, or customerspecific). Work outdoors in all weather; be away from home for 14+ days. Transport technicians between locations if required. Cooperate in shared living accommodations; maintain cleanliness. Read, write, and comprehend English. Pass performance evaluation; minimum 36 months verifiable solids control experience. Minimum Required Education, Credentials, Licenses and Experience High School diploma or GED (preferred). 2year Associates degree or technical diploma in Technology, Electronics, or Mechanics or similar field (preferred). Prior forklift, excavator, skid steer or wheel loader experience or certifications (required). Recertification training will be provided. Microsoft Office proficiency including Outlook (required). Valid drivers license, insurance, and acceptable driving record. Maintain company vehicle in professional manner per policy. Requirements 3+ years solids control field operations experience. More than one year of experience supervising and directing field staff. Handson supervision during rigup and rigdown operations; ensure safe conduct. Ability to cultivate and sustain a culture of safety and productivity. Build and maintain effective professional relationships with employees and customers. Conduct reviews of field technicians performance and safety records.
