What Youll Be Working On Responsible for overall management and direction of the store and team in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ensures financial results of the store, including sales, onsite donations (OSDs), expenses and profits, meet or exceed target. Have a constant focus on growing the business through full utilization of every OK, followed by increasing OK volume as appropriate. Achieves results through management team, as well as by working sidebyside, handson, with the broader store team. The SM rolemodels expected behavior and continually observes, assesses, trains, coaches, and counsels performance. The Store Manager is guided by the Savers Vision and Core Values. Store Performance Ensure store performance meets targets in sales, profit, OSDs, production and productivity based on annual expectations. Continually monitor and set pace of work. Have awareness of corporate objectives and understanding of local market potential. Analyze key metrics and tie findings to observations and take appropriate action. Inspect sales floor for shopability and ensure productivity of merchandise. Leadership and Development Lead, direct, and supervise the work of the management team and through them to entire team. Oversee Production Manager and Retail Sales Manager in proactively planning staffing, recruiting, selecting and training team members at all levels. Regularly observe, assess, interact, coach and counsel the team. Regular interaction, training, coaching, and counseling of management team. Identify and develop high potential team members for all management positions through onthejob, guided work. Maintain a respectful, valuesdriven workplace. Use open communication tools and convert team member input into meaningful action. Address complaints and resolve issues consistent with our values, policies, and procedures. Provide recognition and candid feedback. Receive and relay business information, initiatives, expectations, priorities, etc. Merchandise Productivity Manage full utilization of the OK to maximize sales and profit potential. Inspect execution of the Morning Maintenance program to ensure sales floor ready each morning. Audit merchandise and prices rolled to and off the floor. Provide oversight for the work schedules to meet and exceed customer and donor expectations. Ensure execution of merchandise standards and initiatives, as well as sales & marketing promotions. Ensure that the sales floor/donor areas are continuously monitored, and team member activity is directed to meet standards. Plan and implement seasonal backstock, merchandising and other strategic programs. Ensure the Savers recycling program is fully leveraged to reduce landfill and allow for further reuse of unsold/unsaleable items. Donation Management Execute all company standards in the Community Donation Center (CDC), Donation Drive Fundraiser (DDF), and Get to Give programs. Oversee efforts inside and outside the store to create community awareness of the CDC, the company brand and the benefits of donating to Savers. Develop partnerships with local organizations seeking cash fundraising opportunities and partner with them on DDF events. Develop partnerships and community awareness with local nonprofit organizations (e.g., schools, shelters) that may benefit from free receipt of merchandise that the store would otherwise recycle. Customer/Donor Service Deliver a positive and unforgettable customer/donor experience by setting the example for training and coaching of customer and donor service expectations. Receive and respond to customer/donor questions, requests, and complaints. Ensure a quick, accurate and positive cash register experience for customers. Ensure a quick and informative experience for donors. Actively engage with the customer/donor by seeking firsthand feedback to make improvements to all aspects of the shopping and donor experience. Guide the RSM in implementing setup of sales and marketing promotions & programs. Assist donors per Company standards. Loss Prevention and Safety Protect company assets and information by ensuring their safe handling, security and integrity. Proactively promote loss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and ensuring policies are in place. Maintain a safe work environment through education, consistent follow up, ensuring policies and procedures are in place, and supporting the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). Additional Responsibilities Responsible for overall management and direction of all supervisors and team members in accordance with Savers policies and applicable laws. This includes implementing and administering company programs, policies, and procedures. Able to make decisions and take reasonable action in the absence of the District Manager and/or corporate support to ensure successful store operation. Leverages regional resources as appropriate. Perform any other task, function or responsibility as instructed by immediate supervisor and/or superior manager of the Company. What You Have Excellent presentation skills Ability to communicate well in both verbal and written forms. Ability to observe, assess and coach the work of others. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and/or verbal form. Ability to reason, make decisions, and use independent judgment in various situations. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience High School diploma; postSecondary degree/diploma preferred. 3+ years resultsdriven retail store management, or industrial management experience. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs. Will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling of racks/carts weighing 50 to 250 pounds using 410 lbs. of force. Frequent reaching in various levels/directions to inspect/handle merchandise, validate work processes, train/coach/counsel the team. Possess dexterity for complex handeye tasks, including keyboarding, writing on documents/forms, merchandise & pricing inspection. Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional kneeling to handle &/or inspect merchandise, validate work processes. Frequently required to read written & electronic documents and product labels. Continuous need to hear and verbally communicate to interact with and respond to management, team members and customers. Will need to hear requests in person and via intercom and telephone. Will occasionally be exposed to hazardous machinery (compactor, baler, Big Joe), solvents (cleaners, detergents), radiation (Microwave in break room), continuously exposed to dust and frequently exposed to temperature fluctuations. Will need to adjust work schedule to the needs of business, including working some nights, weekends, holidays. Able and willing to safely, cautiously, and efficiently navigate work environment that may include large industrial machinery, heavy equipment and product, elevated and uneven surfaces, heights, and moving forklifts. Frequent reaching to various levels and directions to move/stack boxes of product, move product on and off hangers, rails and carts and stock product on display racks/shelves. Possess dexterity for complex handeye tasks, including keyboarding and merchandise ticketing/movement activities. Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending and twisting and occasional kneeling needed to stack and/or stock product(s) on display racks. FLSA Exempt Travel Will periodically need to drive to meetings or other stores for business purposes.
