Benefits:MedicalDentalSick payVacation(9) paid holidaysSimple IRA (company match up to 3%)Job Details ResponsibilitiesReview bid invitations, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirementsPrepare detailed takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and related materialsPrepare estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts assuring proper accountingRead and understand job bid instructions and detailed specificationsEstimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items and equipment costsAnalyze historical data and current market pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bidsEnsure projects meet cost requirementsMeet with Sr. Project Manager if costs exceed budget and obtain permission before approving outofbudget costsInterface with necessary department and subcontractors to determine the scheduling of work and materialsCoordinate with Purchasing to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricingMeet with key personnel to ensure timelines of each projectParticipate in prebid meetings, scope reviews, and postbid negotiationsMeet and confer with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, Plant & Field crews to verify accuracy & completeness of all construction drawingsReviews plans and proposals to determine proper procedures in order to accomplish company goalsEnsure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure our interests are protectedImplementation of goals to increase our Steel Fab, Inc.''s reputation with General Contractors.Qualifications7+ years of handson estimating experienceAbility to prepare accurate, competitive bids for structural steel fabricationAbility to perform detailed takeoffs and develop full cost estimatesProficient with estimating software such as FabSuite, FabTrol, Tekla EPM, or similarSolid understanding of AISC standards and fabrication processesExperience working collaboratively with project management, and production teams.Interested in hearing more?
