Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client organizations, other disciplines, vendors and contractors is essential.The Electrical designer is responsible for the development of technical drawings, wiring details for projects in the mineral processing industry.The designer works under the supervision of the design supervisor or the discipline lead engineer.Prepare deliverables including layouts, lists, and conceptual designs in compliance with applicable electrical codesPrepare power/control, lighting, and grounding design drawings and associated MTOsPrepare single line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagramsPrepare electrical load lists and electrical equipment listsCheck electrical drawings and other deliverablesProficient in S3D and SmartSketchPerform squad check of drawings from other disciplinesInterface with other design disciplinesPerform electrical calculations including lighting and cable tray sizingReview vendor drawings and update our designs accordinglyAssist the Design Supervisor as requiredOther duties as assignedBasic Job RequirementsAccredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsMinimum five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in an EPC or EPCM environmentMineral processing, mining, and/or SX/EW plant experience preferredS3D, MicroStation, or AutoCAD proficiencySmartPlant Electrical experience is desirableCompetent in English and possess good written and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsBe able to multi-task between several areas within a projectAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsPreferred QualificationsFluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment.
