The Target pay range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 USD annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training, and budget. Purpose of Job The Internal Medicine Consultant is responsible for providing accurate, timely, professional, and friendly peertopeer (veterinarian to veterinarian) medical consultation to Antech clients. Consultations may occur in any area of small animal internal medicine but generally focus on the diagnosis (test interpretation and/or selection), treatment, monitoring and prevention of medical diseases of canine and feline patients. Duties and Responsibilities Peer to peer consultation with Antech clients regarding interpretation and/or selection of laboratory results and case management. Achieve and maintain superior knowledge of Antech offerings and services, including proprietary testing. Build and strengthen rapport with clients in the process of consultation. Assist in other duties relevant to consultation services and other Antech departments. Attend consultant meetings and continuing education seminars. May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned. May be asked to participate in the creation or provision of client support materials (e.g., presentations, webinars, support documents, videos, podcasts, etc.) as required. Education / Experience Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent with active license in the state of province in which you reside. Board certification in Small Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM). Minimum 5 years clinical experience after completing board certification. Track record of highquality continuing education. Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Bilingualism (specifically fluency in French, both spoken and written) is preferred. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal communication skills, including listening, asking the right questions to understand the situation and the clients needs, and explaining medical concepts in a collegial, professional and clear way, with kindness and empathy. Proven ability and willingness to navigate challenging conversations. Excellent written communication skills. Communication skills to extend to communication with colleagues within and across Antech departments. Strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical quality and staying abreast of emerging medical literature while upholding the veterinary code of ethics. Very comfortable with information technology platforms, including Microsoft programs, Cisco Systems, proprietary labbased programs, and willingness to learn new technologies as they emerge. Ability to identify opportunities, suggest solutions, and see them through to fruition. Analytical and problemsolving skills. Ability to prioritize and stay organized, and to multitask in a fastpaced environment. Proven ability to work effectively with clients and management. Ability to work effectively remotely with minimal supervision. Preference given to candidates able to work a 40hour per week schedule as offered.
