Responsibilities include:Research and observe industry trends paired with sales feedback to translate into new innovative concepts via illustrations/ hand sketches and draping, executed within the brand aesthetic.Help curate seasonal mood boards alongside the Creative Director and design team.Meet with fabric, trim/ component, and embellishment vendors to make initial selections for new season consideration with Creative Director and sales teamWork with existing vendors and source new vendors to develop fabrics and techniques specific to the creative direction of each collection.Design and oversee creation of new styles for collections that are shown twice a year in New York (April and October) and once a year in Barcelona (April).Prepare and present new design concepts to the Creative Director and sales director, to collaborate and make selection of what moves forward together.Communicate some chosen designs to in-house pattern maker and the rest of the line will be tech pack with oversees manufactures.Organize and manage design boards for new development, updating priority as patterns complete and fabrics/ trimmings are available.Oversee design team to create detailed and comprehensive tech packs, BOMs, and detailed specification sheets for select styles.Work closely with design and pattern team to create embroidery and embellishment layouts.Communicate clearly the intricacy or specific technique of draping and concepts to pattern maker and first sample sewers and ensure once a style goes from initial line and into production, the style can be executed properly by team.Monitor samples and lead prototype fittings from muslin stage through to runway/ presentation.Work with Technical Designer to review and approve final tech packs and patterns before they are passed along to the next stage, production.Work with design team to review and approve final artwork templates and patterns before they are passed along to the next stage, production.Oversee customized bride orders with manufacturers.Qualifications:8+ years of industry experience in bridal or eveningwear design.Strong technical understanding of drape, pattern, & garment construction within the Bridal and/or Eveningwear sectors.Creative understanding of finishings, embellishments, and engineering of fabric.High taste level and great eye for color, silhouette and proportion.Passionate/excited about design and innovation with a keen eye for nuance and detail.Wide interests outside of work to help nurture creative inspiration and life balance.Excellent time management skills with the ability to pivot and reprioritize as needed.Experienced in managing teams and cultivates a supportive environment; participates in setting clear goals with the design development team while fostering innovation and collaboration.Able to receive feedback and insight from design department leads as well as sales director and use to better shape collection pieces.Comfortable wearing many hats and playing an integral leadership role in small but collaborative team.Ability and eagerness to travel to U.S., Europe, Asia as needed throughout the year.Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Google Docs, & Microsoft Office.Knowledge in ERP systems such as OLOtech and Apparel Magic a plus, if not, training will be provided.
