SUMMARYReporting to the Director, Enterprise Applications, the Senior IT Reporting Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level business intelligence solutions and reporting systems. This role requires expertise in data visualization, analytics, and reporting tools to transform complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization. The successful candidate will lead reporting initiatives, optimize data delivery mechanisms, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of business intelligence outputs.PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & REPORTINGDesign, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, data models, and visualizations using Power BI and other BI tools.Develop automated reporting solutions, KPI scorecards, and executive-level dashboards.Ensure report performance, data accuracy, and secure access (e.g., row-level security).Generate ad-hoc reports and analytical insights based on business needs.DATA ANALYSIS & MANAGEMENTExtract, transform, validate, and analyze data from ERP systems, databases, and cloud applications.Develop and execute complex SQL queries and ETL/data integration processes.Perform data reconciliation between the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and operational systems.Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to provide strategic insights to management.STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION & REQUIREMENTS GATHERINGPartner with business units to define reporting needs, KPIs, and technical requirements.Act as the primary liaison for reporting inquiries, presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.Provide training, documentation, and support to end-users on report functionality and self-service BI tools.Conduct requirements sessions and maintain documentation of reporting processes and definitions.PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & INNOVATIONIdentify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.Establish and maintain reporting standards, governance practices, and data security compliance.Support system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting for reporting infrastructure.Evaluate emerging BI technologies and recommend improvements to reporting capabilities.LEADERSHIP & MENTORSHIPProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior reporting analysts and team members.Lead cross-functional project teams for reporting initiatives and system implementations.Coordinate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure supports reporting requirements.Participate in the development of departmental strategies and roadmaps for business intelligence.POSITION REQUIREMENTSBachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.5+ years of experience in reporting, business intelligence, or data analytics roles.2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-level reporting solutions and working with ERP systems and large databases.Expert proficiency in Power BI (Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query, data modelling).Advanced SQL skills and strong knowledge of data visualization best practices.Advanced Excel skills and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), dimensional modelling, and ETL concepts.2+ years of experience with JD Edwards and Hubble is considered an asset.Knowledge of Python or R, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), SSRS/SSIS, and Git is considered an asset.Familiarity with data governance, security SDLC, and Agile methodologies is considered an asset.WHAT WE OFFERExpected Base Salary: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations.
