Business Information Management Analyst Financial Risk (Contract) Toronto, ON (Hybrid) 12-Month Contract | Extension & Conversion PossibleAbout the RoleA leading Financial Institution is expanding its Financial Risk Strategy & Enablement team to support major upcoming initiatives. We are looking for a senior Business Information Management Analyst to play a key role in advancing the organizations risk data, technology strategy, and operating model.This role sits at the intersection of risk management, data, and technology, enabling day-to-day operations while shaping long-term strategy and roadmaps.Key DetailsContract Duration: 12 months (extension and conversion possible)Schedule: MondayFriday, core business hoursWork Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite currently; ability to increase to 3+ days in the future)Office Location: TorontoTraining Period: 23 weeksWhy Join This Team?Work within a top-tier Canadian financial institutionBe part of a multi-year transformation of the Risk data and technology landscapeHigh visibility role supporting Risk Leadership and strategic initiativesExposure to enterprise-scale data platforms and cloud-based risk analyticsCollaborative, fast-paced, and delivery-focused cultureWhat Youll DoLead and support business analysis and requirements gathering across multiple risk initiativesWork extensively with data sets across credit risk, market risk, and reference data domainsTranslate business, regulatory, and reporting requirements into clear data and solution requirementsPartner with Risk Management, Lines of Business, and Technology teams to enable data integration and analyticsIdentify opportunities for standardization, optimization, and scalability within Risk processesSupport Risk Data Factory initiatives, centralizing and curating data on Azure for reporting and analyticsDevelop and execute change management and communication plans for senior stakeholdersProvide project updates, insights, and recommendations to Risk LeadershipAssess assumptions, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans across initiativesMust-Have Qualifications10+ years of experience in Banking / Financial Services (Capital Markets, Core Banking, or Consulting)Bachelors degree required (MBA or advanced degree preferred)Strong understanding of Financial Services risk management practicesDeep knowledge of credit risk and market risk data domains, including complex client structures and hierarchiesProven experience leading change initiatives using Waterfall and Agile methodologiesHands-on experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst supporting data integrity, normalization, and operationalizationStrong understanding of reference data sets and business rulesAdvanced proficiency in MS Office, Visio, and SQL ServerExcellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skillsNice to HaveExperience across lending, trading, collateral management, banking books, and risk mitigationExposure to Azure services, including Databricks, Synapse, and Unity CatalogWorking knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI, or similar analytics toolsSoft Skills That MatterStrategic thinker with strong attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentCollaborative team player with strong follow-throughHow Performance Is MeasuredQuality, efficiency, and timeliness of project and initiative deliverablesInterested?If youre a senior risk-focused business/data analyst looking to make a meaningful impact within a leading financial institution, wed love to hear from you.
