OverviewOur client is a private oil & gas company with their head office in downtown Calgary. They currently operate at ~ 50,000 BOEPD with operations in Alberta and Saskatchewan. They are looking to add a Senior Operations Accountant to join their team. This is a permanent role reporting to the Operations Controller. Responsibilities:The Senior Operations Accountant will work closely with the Operations Controller and be primarily responsible for accruals, operating expenses, revenue and royalty reporting, transportation and capital. Specific duties include:Lead the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly operating and capital accruals.Prepare and/or review inventory entries, material transfers, and other month-end journal entriesAnalyze operating results and prepare internal management reportsManage monthly PST submission, review of self-assessment data, and preparation of PST entriesProvide support and ongoing maintenance for AFE Execute (AFE, Well Delivery, and Budget modules)Collaborate with Land, Operations, and Field teams to investigate and resolve issuesSupport quarterly reviews and annual audits, including operations-related analysisPerform other ad hoc duties as requiredRequirements:CPA designation a strong preference10+ years of progressive accounting work experience in the upstream oil and gas industryExperience with accruals, operating expenses, revenue and royalty reporting, transportation and capitalDemonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies and deliver strong business outcomesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teamsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilitiesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Qbyte FM, Optix, EnergyLink, and AFE Navigator (Execute) is considered an asset
