Snowflake Architect SME (GTM Domain)Location: Calgary (Onsite)Experience: 10+ YearsDuration: Long TermRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Architect SME with strong domain expertise in GTM (Gross Ton Mile) reporting and railroad data systems. This role will drive end-to-end solution architecture, translating complex business logic into scalable Snowflake-based data solutions while ensuring accuracy, performance, and alignment with operational datasets.The ideal candidate will act as a domain-led architect, bridging business requirements and technical implementation, and owning architecture, validation, and orchestration strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesLead solution architecture and high-level design for GTM report generation on SnowflakeTranslate GTM allocation and business logic into scalable Snowflake transformationsPerform data validation, reconciliation, and benchmarking against MDW reference datasetsDesign pipeline orchestration strategy including:Job sequencingDependency managementRetry mechanismsError handling frameworksDefine integration architecture for upstream systems such as RPM and Rail360Establish technical standards, coding best practices, and documentation frameworksProvide DevOps alignment, including CI/CD strategy and deployment governance for Snowflake workloadsLead research, prototyping, and PoC initiatives to validate architectural approachesAct as SME for GTM reporting, including:Railroad topologyOperational data semanticsBusiness rule interpretationKey DeliverablesGTM Solution Architecture & High-Level Design DocumentsGTM Allocation Logic Implementation ArtifactsIntegration Design Documentation (RPM & Rail360)Pipeline Orchestration Design FrameworkData Validation & Reconciliation ReportsTechnical Standards & Coding Guidelines DocumentationPoC Artifacts and Domain Knowledge DocumentationRequired Skills & Qualifications10+ years of experience in data architecture and data engineeringStrong expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and optimizationProven experience in complex data transformation and pipeline orchestration designExperience with data validation, reconciliation frameworks, and large-scale data systemsHands-on exposure to CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud data platformsStrong understanding of data modeling (dimensional & normalized)Domain experience in transportation/logistics/railroad data (preferred)Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate business logic into technical designPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in GTM reporting or similar operational analytics frameworksExposure to railroad systems, topology, or logistics data platformsExperience with PoC development and architecture evaluation frameworks
