As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced plastics machinery, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.Responsibilities:Adhere to daily schedules for visiting customer sites and providing onsite service for plastics manufacturing machinery.Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues on injection molding equipment, ensuring problems are resolved to customer satisfaction.Start up new injection molding machines, assist with molding processes, and provide comprehensive operator and maintenance training to customer staff.Accurately document all service visits, activities performed, issues encountered, and ensure timely submission of field service reports and expense reports.Safeguard company-issued tools, property, and proprietary information, maintaining them in good working condition.Project a professional and positive image through attitude, appearance, and conduct consistent with company standards.Assist with temporary phone technical support for customers or managers as needed.Arrange and manage travel while controlling costs and adhering to departmental guidelines.Must-Have Skills:Two-year technical degree in electronics or equivalent experience within the plastics manufacturing industry.Proven field service experience, especially in troubleshooting and repairing injection molding machines.Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems relevant to plastics processing equipment.Excellent documentation skills for accurate and timely completion of service reports.Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 90% travel required) and work in varying environments, including hot, dusty, or noisy conditions.Valid drivers license with no travel restrictions.Nice-to-Have Skills:Bachelors degree in a technical field (Engineering, Electronics, or related discipline).Hands-on experience with multiple brands of plastics machinery.Familiarity with advanced automation or robotics used in plastics processing.Strong interpersonal skills and previous experience conducting customer training sessions.Background in documenting and improving service processes or procedures in a manufacturing setting.
