A leading renewable energy owner/operator is looking to hire a Senior Operations Engineer to support the performance, reliability, and ongoing optimization of a growing portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage assets.This role sits within the operations engineering team and will play a key part in ensuring assets are running efficiently while supporting long-term improvements across electrical systems and infrastructure.Key responsibilities:Lead complex electrical projects from concept through commissioning, including shutdowns, upgrades, and modernization initiativesProvide technical expertise across substations, collector systems, and interconnection infrastructureSupport site teams with troubleshooting, performance improvements, and reliability enhancementsCoordinate with external vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders in a matrixed environmentCollaborate with development and construction teams to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and performance standardsRequirements:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering5+ years of experience in high-voltage substations and protection and controlStrong hands-on experience with field work and operational assetsFamiliarity with standards such as NERC, IEEE, CSA, and ANSI/NETAPreferred experience:Background in renewable energy operations (wind, solar, BESS, or hydro)Understanding of the Ontario market and regulatory frameworkProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in OntarioExperience with power system modeling tools such as EasyPower, ETAP, or EMTThis is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to work closely with operating assets, take ownership of technical challenges, and play a key role in improving asset performance across a growing portfolio.
