Define naming standards, data types, constraints, and auditing columns (created updated by at).Create maintain ERDs and data dictionaries ensure referential integrity.2) SQL Procedural Code Development Write efficient TSQL (Azure SQL) and Transact SQL Sybase SQL stored procedures, functions, views, triggers. Build parameterized queries and reusable packages for data access layers. Implement robust error handling, transaction control, and idempotent patterns for batch jobs.3) Performance Engineering Analyze execution plans and tune queries, indexes (clustered non clustered filtered), statistics, and partitioning strategies. Optimize temp DB usage (Azure SQL logical temp DB), memory grants, and join strategies. Implement caching aggregation tables and result set pagination strategies. Remediate blocking, deadlocks, high IO, and parameter sniffing.4) ETLELT Data Integration Build ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory Synapse Pipelines, SSIS (if applicable), and bcpisql (Sybase).Implement CDC change capture patterns, SCD Type 12, and data validation reconciliation. Develop secure connectors between Sybase ASESQL Anywhere Azure SQL handle type mapping and collation differences.5) Migration Modernization Assess Sybase schemas, procs, and datatypes plan conversion to Azure SQL (e.g., money, text image decimal(max) varbinary(max)).Use tools (e.g., Azure DMS, scripts) to migrate schemas data handle incompatible features (cursors, identity behaviors, locking hints).Execute dry runs, cutover planning, backout plans, and postmigration performance fixes.6) Security Compliance Implement RBAC, least privilege, and RLS (Row Level Security) in Azure SQL configure logins users roles in Sybase. Manage secrets (Azure Key Vault) and encrypted connections (TLS) apply TDE (Azure SQL) and data masking tokenization for PIIPCI. Build audit trails (Azure SQL Auditing Extended Events Sybase auditing) and support regulatory reporting.7) Reliability, HADR Maintenance Configure and validate HADR Azure SQL (zone redundancy, Auto failover groups, Geo replication) Sybase (HA options Replication Server).Define RPORTO, backup policies, point intime restore testing, and index statistics maintenance jobs. Implement automated health checks and alerting for failures, latency, and space growth.8) DevOps Release Engineering Version SQL code (schemas, procs) in Git use migration frameworks (SQL projects, DACPACBACPAC where applicable).Build CICD pipelines (Azure DevOps GitHub Actions) with automated schema drift checks and deployment gates. Enforce code review standards and static analysis (SQL linting).9) Monitoring Observability Set up monitoring Azure Monitor, Query Store, Intelligent Insights for Azure SQL MDA tables monitors in Sybase. Create performance dashboards (DTU v Core utilization, waits, top queries, blocking chains).Conduct regular Salary Range - CA$ 100,000 - CA$ 120,000 Per Year Note: TCS does not use artificial intelligence tools for candidate screening or evaluation.
