Company DescriptionStart Building Your Accounting CareerSilver Birch Construction is a growing general contractor, design/builder, and construction manager delivering commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across the region.We are seeking a motivated Accountant who wants hands-on experience in construction project accounting and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative, team-oriented company.This role offers real exposure to job costing, financial reporting, and working directly with Project Managers not just basic bookkeeping tasks.Role DescriptionAccountant Construction IndustryFull-Time | In-Office, Kitchener, ONSalary: $60,000 $65,000 per year (based on experience) What Youll Be Responsible ForProject Accounting (with Project Managers):Managing estimates, purchase orders (POs), change orders (COs), holdbacks, and progress drawsEntering PM-provided Excel estimate and CO data into QuickBooks OnlineMonitoring job costs and supporting monthly project reportingCore Accounting Functions:Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable (including collections)Bank reconciliationsHST, payroll, and other government remittancesMonthly financial reporting support, journal entries and accrualsWorking with external accountantsPayroll Support:Submitting approved weekly hours to ADP (reviewed by PM)Processing weekly ADP Payroll journal entries into QuickBooks Online (QBO) What Were Looking ForDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field13 years of experience (construction experience is an asset)Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) requiredStrong Excel skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational abilitiesComfortable collaborating with Project Managers Why Join Silver Birch?Competitive salaryExposure to construction project accountingMentorship and professional growth opportunitiesStable and supportive team environmentPaid vacation and statutory holidaysHealth benefitsIf youre looking to build a strong foundation in accounting within the construction industry, wed love to hear from you.Silver Birch Construction thanks all applicants; only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
