The company develops and commercializes proprietary technologies, including:AmmEL an electrochemical ammonia removal system that converts ammonia directly to nitrogen and hydrogen gas without producing harmful byproductsESD (Electro-Static Deionization) a super capacity technology for removing dissolved solids from water for the production of ultrapure water.Our mission is to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient, and chemical-free water treatment technologies to address global water and environmental challenges.Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated electrochemist to join our R&D and engineering team in Guelph, Ontario. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, testing, and optimization of electrochemical water treatment systems.This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role at the intersection of electrochemistry, environmental engineering, and process design.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize electrochemical systems (electrolyzers) for water and wastewater treatmentConduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments involving: - Ammonia oxidation - Electro-static deionization for the production of high purity water - Other water treatment technologies, including but not limited to, coagulation/flocculation, filtration, ion exchange, thermal stripper, etc.Analyze system performance (e.g., contaminant removal efficiency, current efficiency, Faradaic efficiency, mass transfer, kinetics)Develop and validate electrode materials and configurationsSupport scale-up from lab to pilot and commercial systemsCollaborate within the engineering team on process design, controls, and automationPrepare technical reportsAssist with field trials and provide clients with technical supportRequired QualificationsUniversity degree(s) & academic research background in electrochemistry, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related fieldStrong background in: - Electrochemical systems (e.g., electrolysis, super capacitors)Hands-on experience with: - Lab-scale and pilot-scale experimental setupsKnowledge of water/wastewater treatment processesPreferred QualificationsExperience with: - Hydrogen production through electrolysis systems - Electrolysis reactor designFamiliarity with water treatment systems such as filtration, ion exchange, thermal strippingExperience with manufacturing processes and industrial equipment assemblyPLC programmingProfessional Engineering (P.Eng.) eligibility in OntarioWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edge electrochemical technologiesDirect impact on sustainable water and energy solutionsCollaborative, innovation-driven environmentCareer growth in a rapidly evolving clean technology sectorHow to ApplyPlease email your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in this position to The closing date for this job posting is May 18th.
