One of Alquemy's pension fund clients is looking to hire a contract IT Vendor Management Lead.IT Vendor Management Lead (6-Month Contract)Location: Downtown Toronto Hybrid (2 days in-office: Tuesday + 1 flexible day) Role Type: 6-Month Contract Category: Strategic Sourcing / IT Operations / Vendor ManagementThe OpportunityWe are looking for a Strategic IT Vendor Lead to join us in a brand-new role created to support our rapidly expanding portfolio. This isn't a 'maintenance' positionits a 'build' position. You will have the autonomy to assess our current landscape, define new processes, and act as a thought leader in the modern IT ecosystem.If you are tired of managing legacy hardware contracts and want to work with bleeding-edge tech (Cloud, DevOps, Security), this is the role for you.What Youll DoDefine & Improve: Assess our current vendor landscape to establish and refine the VMO framework and internal processes.Modern Relationship Management: Lead partnerships with modern, high-growth vendors across Infrastructure, Cloud, and Hosted Services (no 'old school' legacy management here).Strategic Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between internal Executives, Product Owners, and IT Managers.Drive Performance: Develop and use data-driven KPIs to provide visibility into vendor health and performance for the executive team.Full Lifecycle Ownership: Lead RFPs/RFIs, drive rate negotiations, and manage high-level service escalations and renewals.What Were Looking ForTechnical Fluency: You understand the modern IT landscape well enough to know how Cloud, DevOps, and Security tools fit into a global architecture.Modern Experience: Proven track record managing modern SaaS and Cloud vendors rather than legacy giants (e.g., IBM).High-Level Communication: You are a 'people person' who can navigate executive boardrooms and technical team meetings with equal ease.Analytical Mindset: You use data to tell a story and can turn metrics into actionable business insights.Leadership: You don't just follow a process; you have the confidence to build one from scratch.Position RequirementsAbility to work in-office 2 days per week (Tuesdays mandatory).Proven experience in IT Vendor Management, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing.Experience managing multiple vendor renewals and complex rate negotiations.
