The business is well known for developing talent internally and providing long-term career progression opportunities.Your New RoleAs Senior Corporate Accountant / Corporate Accountant, you will report to the Assistant Controller and join a closeknit consolidations team. Based at the Mississauga head office, you will play a key role in corporate accounting and reporting, supporting consolidated and nonconsolidated financial statements and MD&A for a multientity, publicly accountable organization.This role exists due to an internal move, reinforcing the companys strong culture of internal progression.Key responsibilities include:Consolidation ProcessMonitoring monthend and quarterend close and rollup processes across all divisionsPreparing and managing monthly and quarterly reporting timelinesDetermining and recording elimination entries in consolidation workbooksManaging and overseeing working paper support for notes to consolidated financial statementsPreparation of Consolidated Financial Statements & MD&AAssisting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements and MD&AManaging updates and incorporating review commentsCoordinating note disclosure timelines and monitoring adherence across teamsNonConsolidated ReportingDetermining and recording elimination entries in nonconsolidation workbooksOverseeing working papers for nonconsolidated financial statementsAssisting with nonconsolidated financial statements and quarterly reporting packagesAudit & Management ReportingCoordinating and managing external audit requests and supporting documentationMonitoring and resolving auditrelated queriesPreparing management reporting, including key industry metrics such as NOI and financial instrumentsWhat Youll Need to SucceedCPA designation or close to completion35+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong technical accounting foundation with IFRS knowledge (handson or through formal study)Experience with consolidations in either a public accounting firm or public company environmentAbility to adapt quickly, manage competing deadlines, and handle adhoc requestsConfidence dealing with senior management and stakeholdersStrong communication skills, a personable approach, and patience when coordinating across divisionsBackgrounds considered:Public accounting professionals (any firm size), with IFRS exposureCorporate accountants from public companies with IFRS and consolidation experienceReal estate exposure is helpful but not requiredWhat youll get in returnSalary of $85,000$95,000Annual bonus of up to 5.67%2% pension3 weeks vacation, increasing with tenure10 personal / sick daysHybrid working model (in office MondayThursday)Standard hours of 9:00am5:00pm, with additional hours during quarterend and yearend onlyBroad exposure across IFRS, consolidations, public reporting, and U.S. operationsClear progression path to Supervisor or Manager level within 23 years, either within the consolidations team or the wider accounting functionWhat you need to do nowIf you meet all the requirements for this role, please apply quoting reference number: 1124151.
